Sony 28-70mm f/2 G Master
As a portrait photographer, I've had the opportunity to test the new Sony 20-70mm f/2 zoom lens, and I must say, it’s an impressive addition to the lineup. The versatility of this focal range allows for both wide-angle shots and tighter compositions, which is ideal for capturing dynamic portraits.
The f/2 maximum aperture is particularly noteworthy. It provides a beautiful separation between the subject and background, yielding creamy bokeh that enhances the overall aesthetic of the images. I found that the lens performs exceptionally well in various lighting conditions, maintaining sharpness and clarity throughout its zoom range.
One of the standout features is the autofocus system. It locks on quickly and accurately, even when working with more challenging subjects or during candid moments. This is especially important for family and engagement shoots, where spontaneity is key.
The build quality is robust yet lightweight, making it a practical choice for outdoor sessions or when moving between different locations. Ergonomically, it feels comfortable in hand, with well-placed control rings that allow for smooth adjustments on the fly.
Overall, the Sony 20-70mm f/2 zoom lens has quickly become a favorite in my gear lineup. It combines versatility, excellent image quality, and a friendly handling experience that is sure to benefit any photographer looking to elevate their portrait work.
